I have a lot of memories of Faye from when I was growing up, all of them good. We were lucky to have had her as our neighbor. Very sad to hear she's passed on.

I miss you so much already, Mom. You were such a kind, goodhearted person. My best memory of you is that you always kept your smile and sense of humor throughout the many travails in your life. Our family survived so much illness and despair when we were young. I am so thankful that you traveled with me, went to the movies with me, went shopping with me, dined with me. You were always ready to escape for a few hours. As soon as I called you asked "what time will you be here?" In warm weather you would be sitting in your rocking chair on the porch, waiting anxiously. You walked many, many miles over the years, as a nurse at Masonic Homes, through town to nurse people. and of course at home nursing our father and brother. Your knees finally gave out and you lost the use of your legs entirely at the end. But, you never turned down the opportunity to get out, using a cart or cane, anything to lean on. Our last outing was to finally make it to Hinkle's Pharmacy for my birthday and a burger.
This of course, is the most difficult thing to go through, but I will forever be grateful to have you as my mother and my children's grandmother and as my grandchildren's great grandmother. You were loved very much and will never be forgotten.
