I shocked to hear of Don's passing. My yearly visits to Marietta won't be the same. I will always remember all the good times we had in school and the years after. Bun was a true friend and great patriot...R.I.P. my friend, Jean and I will miss you.

We sure will miss your wonderful smile and that great laugh of yours at our Marine Corps Reunions each year. You were a great friend and I will miss you. We Marines all thought that you would outlive us. You were always the picture of health. Semper Fi Old Buddy. See you on the other side. Rod Rehrig

Don and I became good friends when we were both stationed together at the 1ST. Marine Corps District in Garden City, LI, NY. After we both were discharged we lost contact for many years. I attended my first Marine reunion in 2009. Although I didn't recognize many of the guys at first, I spotted Don as he still looked the same as he did in 1963. Our friendship started right up again as if it had never left off. Sometimes I would call him and if he wasn't home I knew he was either at the casino or race track.
Rest In Peace my friend,,,,,,,,,,I will miss your friendship
