Roger D. Severt Sr.

Roger D. Severt Sr., of Columbia, passed away on Saturday March 4, 2023 at the age of 73.  Born in Pineville, WV, he was the son of the late Blaine Washington. and Mary Thersie (Harmon) Severt.

He spent his working career at Penn Manor as a custodian. In his free-time he truly enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and spending time in nature. He will be remembered for his big loving heart he would help anyone. He was an honorary man who will be missed by everyone he’s met.

Roger is survived by his children: Roger Severt Jr. and Rodney Severt; grandchildren: Roger Dale Severt III, Taylor Severt, Janae Severt, Jordan Severt and Brilyn Severt; Siblings: Patricia Pearson and Alan Severt; Sammy the turtle who’s been by his side the last 16 years. He is preceded in death by his sons: Blaine Severt and Brian Severt; Siblings: Kenneth Severt, Peggy Sue Roach and John Severt.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10:00 AM, March 10, 2023 at Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home. 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA 17547.  Followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM

Roger will be buried at Drumore Cemetery following services.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s memory to the Wolf Sanctuary of PA. 465 Speedwell Forge Rd, Lititz, PA 17543.
