Joseph Hepner Obituary

On May 6, 2023 Joseph Henry Hepner passed away peacefully.  He was born To Earl and Meda Hepner on a dairy farm in Dalmatia Pennsylvania and enlisted in the United States Air Force at the conclusion of the Korean War. He met his bride of 66 years while stationed in the newly formed Federal Republic of Germany.  He served in Vietnam during the Tet offensive and was proud of his service to the United States.

Joseph was the father of eight children.  He was a Pennsylvania Dutch stoic; quiet, wise, thoughtful, and always a great sounding board.  He loved kids and was a bus driver for the Hershey school district for many years.  He was passionate about baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals. He played, coached, and umpired baseball and softball until his children were grown.

Joseph’s wife Annarose passed less than two months ago.  He is survived by his eight children, 21 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren, and his sister Doris Willier.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Seven Sorrows BVM church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown PA at 10:30 AM on Tuesday May 16th.  There will be a viewing from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to your local youth baseball and softball organizations.
