Carl R. Umbrell, Sr.

Carl R. Umbrell, Sr., 71, of Annville, passed away peacefully with his children by his side, on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. He was born Monday, June 4, 1951 to the late Robert Guy and Mamie Mae (Koons) Umbrell. He is predeceased by his loving wife since January, Jean L. (Gettys) Umbrell.

Carl was a proud Army Veteran who was known for his selflessness, kindness, and giving personality.  He was a member of Life Connections Church, Woodmen of the World, Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Assoc. He loved his cats, Belle and Bailey, and horses and mules. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family and neighbors and being outside. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his children: Carl Umbrell, Jr. and Missy, Veronica Jackson and husband Kevin, and Louis Umbrell and wife Jennifer; step-children, Crystal Allen and husband Robert, Jr., Michael Whitzel , and Melinda Rodriquez and husband John; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jay Umbrell and wife Carol. He is predeceased by his brothers, Gene and Paul Umbrell.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. A time of Viewing will be held from 11AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow with full military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with his wife.
