William “Bill” J. Hogan, Sr.

William “Bill” Jennings Hogan, Sr., 82, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Lancashire Hall Nursing Home, Lancaster.  He was born Friday, January 3, 1936 in Harrisburg, the sixth of ten children to the late John Morgan and Dorothy (Little) Hogan.   He is survived by his wife Kitty Lou (Heisey) Hogan.      

Bill was raised in Fannettsburg, PA, Franklin County.  He worked for Newcomer Oil Corporation in Elizabethtown and was a foundry machinist.  He loved country music, baseball, and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he’s survived by 2 children, Susan M. Mulhollem and husband John and William J. Hogan, Jr.; 4 grandchildren, Jonathon R., and Dalton J. Mulhollem, Andrew Hawthorne, and Elizabeth L. Hogan; a great-granddaughter, Rylie Mulhollem; and a brother, Barry Hogan.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Emily M. Mulhollem and 8 siblings. 

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 11 until noon at Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 N. Gay St., Marietta 17547. A graveside service will follow the viewing in West Green Tree Cemetery, Elizabethtown with Pastor Scott Sweigart officiating. 

The family would like to thank Lancashire Hall Nursing Home for the special care they gave Bill during his time there.
