Jesse E. Brallier, 87, of Marietta, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Everett, PA, he was the son of the late Jesse T. and Susie (Batzell) Brallier. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 52 years, Marcia (Ford) Brallier.
Jesse was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a gifted and meticulous carpenter. He worked as a carpenter for many years, even building their home in Bedford county. He then went on to open a tool sharpening business, working for 30 years until retirement in 2016. Jesse had a passion for anything on the water, like fishing and boating. He loved dogs, and his family had many wonderful pets over the years. His family will fondly remember not always knowing where Jesse was in the house, but knowing he was there because he was always whistling some sort of tune. He loved his family dearly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Dennis Brallier of Schellsburg, daughter Lori Oberholtzer (Richard) of Marietta, Scott Brallier (Molly Good) of Columbia, Eric Brallier (Vicky Kuntz) of Willow Street; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother Jay Howard (Nancy) of Everett; and ex daughter-in-law Donna (Widger) Brallier of Manheim. He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Lee Brallier and four siblings.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 N. Gay St., Marietta, PA 17547.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 1426 N. 3rd St., Harrisburg, PA 17102 or www.CBF.org.
