Faye J. (Reno) Gingrich

Faye J. (Reno) Gingrich, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Columbia.  Born Saturday, May 10, 1930 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Irvin G. and Cora J. (Lutz) Reno.  She was married to John L. Gingrich on March 19, 1954.  John died on July 28, 1970.

In her earlier years, Faye worked as a Registered Nurse at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown and also helped take care of her family, friends and neighbors.  She enjoyed going to the mountains, camping, fishing, reading, gardening and watching movies.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She will be lovingly missed by her children: Pamela F. Gingrich and partner, Malcolm Watson, of Camp Hill; Bonnie J. Steiner and husband, Cliff, of Columbia and Jere L. Gray, of Lancaster.  Also surviving are four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a brother, Hugh Reno and wife, Ethel, of Elizabethtown.  She was preceded in death by a son, John I. Gingrich.

Funeral Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 N. Gay St., Marietta, PA 17547, 717-426-3614.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Faye’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Humane League of Lancaster County
